Job Description\n

American Traveler is seeking an RN or LPN with current Maine or compact license and 2+ years of long-term care or skilled nursing experience for a post-acute care position.

\n \n Responsibilities\n

• Work in a post-acute care setting with units specializing in Alzheimer's/dementia, short-term rehab, and long-term placement
• Units include a 31-bed Alzheimer's/dementia care unit, a 42-bed transitional rehabilitation unit, and a 42-bed long-term care unit
• Patient populations include residents with dementia, post-surgical recovery, stroke, and other conditions requiring skilled nursing and rehabilitation
• Day (7a-7:30p) or night (7p-7:30a) 12-hour shifts available
• Flexibility required to provide coverage 24/7 and float to other units as needed
• Provide direct and indirect care partnering with residents and care teams to maintain a safe, therapeutic environment
• Duties may include administering IV therapy, wound care, geriatric assessments, and supporting patients with challenging behaviors
• Emphasizes understanding communication needs of Alzheimer's/dementia residents, including both verbal and non-verbal techniques
• Team-based care model with emphasis on flexibility and patient-centered care
• Dress code or scrub color required by unit policy

\n \n Requirements\n

• Current Maine or compact RN or LPN license required if applicable
• Associates degree in Nursing required
• Minimum 2 years of previous RN or LPN experience in a similar setting required
• Current BLS/BCLS certification required
• Strong teamwork and communication skills required
• Experience in long-term care, dementia care, or rehabilitation nursing strongly preferred
• Candidates with licensure issues will not be considered
• Previous employees of the facility are not eligible for consideration
